He is now combining his life experience as a business owner, his skills as a master craftsman and his Master of Science education to offer a unique counseling experience.
“For the last 40 years, I have been a furniture maker. As a furniture maker, I take lumber that is rough, twisted, warped with irregular knots and holes, and create something beautiful. When I look at a pile of rough lumber, I see the raw building blocks that will eventually become a piece of furniture. As a counselor, I see individuals who are suffering with depression, anxiety, addiction, and trauma. In a similar fashion, I see beauty and potential waiting to be released. We all have flaws and imperfections just like wood. In my role as a counselor, I help individuals rejoin their broken parts and work through their warps, twists, and knots to reveal the unique, beautiful human being they were meant to be.”
