Service Description
Designed for parents and accompanying children 10yrs+ The goal of the group is to educate children and their parents about the human experience with an emphasis on mental health. The program features art projects that engage both children and adults in crafts designed to divert attention away from video screens and refocus on right brain activities. Emphasis is placed on engaging with the “real” world instead of a virtual world. Some of the psychoeducation topics include: video game addition, social anxiety, forming social groups, recognizing depression, suicidality, healthy eating, the importance of good sleep, etc. Art activities include building wooden robots as well as other crafts with an emphasis on woodworking skills.
